About SILT Bootcamp

The SILT Bootcamp is a programme designed for women who have the passion and drive for the Development sector. It aims to fill an important gap by orienting these future leaders and changemakers to the development sector and helping them discover their place within it. The world requires more women leaders who are ethical and have a strong ability to understand and address real-world problems. SoCh believes that by bringing in more women into the sector, is a sure shot way to achieve the SDGs.

What is the SILT Framework?

The SILT cohort will be provided with vital information, knowledge & space to reflect on learnings about the development sector and the SDGs. The program is designed within a SILT framework with elements of Social, Impact, Leadership & Transformation.

Social

The S element of SILT covers concepts of development and its approaches while linking it to local and global issues. We introduce the SDGs and break down concepts such as gender, equity, equality, power and  privilege through specially designed activities.

Impact

The I element of SILT focuses on why impact metrics are necessary.  We use tools such as the Human Centre Design and Theory of Change to inculcate empathy in measuring and enabling impact in the sector.

Leadership

The L element of SILT covers topics on leadership such as who are leaders, qualities and styles of leadership, and ethics in leadership.

Transformation

The T element of SILT is a Personal Transformation phase where in the participants answer questions like “What is in it for me?” and “How can I impact change?”

This  framework remains integral to the journey of the SILT Bootcamp which is covered in three parts – Understanding Social Change, Field Immersion, & Personalized Action Plan.

SILT Phases

Understanding Social Change

The participants will deepen their understanding of the SDGs and the development sector where in they will be introduced to complex ground realities.

Field Immersion

The participants will get the opportunity to work in the field. This experiential learning will expose them to the ground realities. Further it  will help them set goals and test their own leadership skills.

Personalized Action Plan

The participants will go through a journey of self reflection and personal transformation. In the end, they will develop a Personalized Action Plan which aligns with one or more SDGs and present it to an accomplished set of panelists from the Sector
